The Savior Has Come!!

K not Jesus but it feels like it.  Our assessments have been set up for Silas!!  That means once they are done the lady will write up a report and program and submit it to the gov who’ll then release his funds and he’ll begin his daily ABA therapy!!

ITS HERE!!!!

It feels like people are coming to my house riding a chariot on a cloud.  That’s exactly that it feels like.  I hope my hopes aren’t too high for this.

I just know Silas is going to do well with these people.  He’s such a fast learner and he’s very adaptable, despite the fact that most children with autism aren’t.  He is.  He’s going to be amazing!  I think it’s because Silas is becoming “less autistic” (if that’s possible) on his own.  He’s going to rock with therapy!  GO SILAS GO!!

Anyway, after I put the phone down I shed a tear or two, because I’m happy, relieved, it’s going to get better from here…I hope.

Once Silas’ therapy is about to commence we’re going to throw a little shindig with people whom are close to us, to celebrate, to support and…yes, to pray.  Prayer is fast becomming something I often do and something that’s really helping me through this process.  I don’t often talk about my faith on this blog, and I don’t intend to.  But there’s something to it.  I dunno how it works or why it works or why it works when it does and why it doesn’t when it doesn’t.  But it’s helping and I’d love to have people come into our home and just pray.

Anyway, exciting news.  I just cannot wait!!!

In other news, I recieved a book for my birthday called Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon and i’m told it’s amazing.  I can’t wait to start!

  1. So happy to hear that! I want to warn you though- he may rebel and not at all like ABA at first- push through it though- it does work! We started with Lucas at 18 months old and the first 3 months or so were hellish…. now he is so used to it and I sit in on the sessions so I can apply what he is working on at home- it helps so much.
Hey can you send me some info on GFCF diet? I know you tried it with Silas- we are starting it this week (already cut out milk) and I wanted to see what are some things you tried/did not try/what he liked/disliked- thanks! My son won’t eat any meat, potatoes, rice or any fruits except apples and bananas- no veggies at all…. we are kind of limited!

  2. My daughter recently started requesting to pray at night and we’ve been doing it regularly for a few weeks now. I went to church regularly growing up, but it’s been a looong time since I’ve been back. I find prayer with her very comforting. Although I fell away from it myself, it’s not something I’ve ever stopped believing in.

I don’t know the history of your son but I’m happy that help is coming his way!
