Another election…here we go. A chance to have our lil say in who’s to become our next leader in Canada.
I feel bad that I haven’t been paying too much attention to the election but I still think I’m voting for the right person.
It’s hard to vote sometimes. I’d like to vote for for a smaller party, one that I fully believe in but then I really don’t want a certain someone to be our prime minister. So I’m voting for the lesser of the two evils.
I’m so bothered that people’s main concerns with voting (well, in a lot of circles) is whether or not they support gay marriage and whether or not they support abortion. I’m not going to give you a run down on what I do and don’t agree with in those areas but I just hope that people start looking at the bigger picture.
Yes babies are aborted all the time but our country is also completely guilty of SO MUCH MORE!! Not just within our country but on a massive international level. Unless you go beyond watching what the news shows you then you’re just going to get the fluffy stuff. Not that abortion is fluffy or anything…or not a serious issue…it’s just part of it and not what things should be based on entirely. There’s so much more to being a leader of a country.
I don’t understand single (or dual) issue voters. You need to vote on the whole platform, not just on whether they believe in abortion or gay marriage. My personal feeling about both issues aside, I think that there is so much more involved in running a country. It drives me crazy that people will vote for a person who would do a TERRIBLE job of leading a country because the person they voted for doesn’t believe in abortion (and lets face it people – abortion isn’t EVER going to be illegal!)
I voted today. We got to stand in line and chat with our neighbour, which was nice. Made the time go by faster. It was really hard for me to decide who to vote for, but I think that I made the right choice (even though who I voted for wasn’t who was elected).
Amen!
