YAY Gardening!!

I’ve been kinda dreading the gardening that must ensue this summer.  I wasn’t sure if I was up for it but today I got out and tidied up my yard, dealt with my neglected compost…not that I haven’t been composting!! Silas played with all the worms I found and Isaac poured sand all over the place and collected rocks that he liked and put them into a cup.  It’s pretty cute seeing him stare at a pile of gravel and pick out 1 particular rock he likes.

It felt soooooo good to be digging around.  I was surprised to see I had purchased some perrenials last summer and they’re up again.  I can’t wait for blooms!  I think this year I’ll just get a wildflower seed mix for my beds.

The veggie garden is now ready to plant too.  I thik I’m going to change things up this year.  I’ll still do carrots and beets but only like 2 kales instead of a row.  I also want some bush beans and a row of mini nugget potatoes.  My sister’s got me this weird tomtato bag thing so I’ll do that too.

The garden is ready for planting and I’m very excited.  I’m lacking fund this year so I probably wont do pots, unless we get those tax returns in soon.

K so my beautifu lawn I planted last year is totally thin and unhappy.  I’m so sad.  I wont use chemicals on it.  I’m going to fertilize it today with my organic stuff and I guess I should be watering it lots and lots.

Anyway, gardening WOOOOT.  I was so happy that we did all that work last year and I don’t have to do much this year in preperation!

Anyway happy friday.

  1. Sounds like a nice garden!
Thanks for commenting on my blog…we don’t know each other though, right?

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog. 🙂

I love gardening. I’ve got tulips up and blooming and my daylillies are starting to sprout buds. Beware on the wildflower seeds – I’ve never had any luck just planting them in a bed. But I hope it works out for you!
