Look at this, blogging on a stat holiday. That’s dedication folks…that’s dedication.
So yesterday was Colin’s (Leanne’s husband) birthday so I decided to go all culinary genius on everyone and blow every ones minds with a fabulous concoction made up by yours truly. Well I was hoping to do so.
The menu? It was some home-made gnocchi with a creamy white wine, blue cheese, caramelized onions and mushroom sauce and drizzled with balsamic reduction. Earlier I grilled up a bunch of veg on the BBQ and chilled it and served it as a salad with a light balsamic dressing. Leanne brought some tasty tasty Caesar salad and some chocolate cake. It was delightful.
I don’t think Silas ate any but you sure can guess that Isaac downed like…most of it. Lucas enjoyed some of it too but him and Silas were too interested in playing together, which they did remarkably well at!!
Once the feasting ceased, we got the kiddos into the tub where they splished and splashed and then Lucas hit Silas in the head with a cup and that was the end of that. Onto the book reading snuggle time..
Lucas fell asleep in our room very nicely and we proceeded to talk about grown up things like theology, world poverty and politics until 2am when Leanne realized their bedding was still in the wash so, it was time to go. Man time goes by fast when you’re having fun.
Well plated dinner Leah! Looks yummy!
As the mother of the birthdayman I want to say how it warms my heart to see and hear about the fine time you had eating that wonderful food you cooked Leah and then the time of relating that you enjoyed.
I see a red bird looking at me!
OK, the comment under Ikey’s picture SO made me think of my darling Amanda. “What’s next on the menu?” “Is there dessert?” “What if we run out of food?”
Ikey also looks like Baby Me in that picture.
Indeed, tons of fun…and oh! the food. So good. 🙂 But goodness me, I’m tired today.
A wonderful dinner. I would raather enjoy your food than my own. Guess I have had enough of cooking after so many years. Love, Gram
But after all these years, she still is a wonderful cook, and I can look back (more than 60) on a jillion scrumptious meals. Something for you to shoot for Leah.
